Some days, you just need to get out of the house in Courtice.
But you’ve done the usual “trip to the park” a hundred times.
If the idea of planning something bigger feels exhausting and you just need something easy – I have good news!
Courtice, On and surrounding areas have plenty of quick, no-stress outings that don’t require reservations or a detailed itinerary!
Here are some of the best Courtice family-friendly outings in your area that you can do with zero planning.
Library Storytime or Activity Hours
Your local library is a goldmine for last-minute fun, and most of their events are totally free! The Courtice Public Library offers Baby Bookworms, Tales For Toddlers, Musical Babies, Kids Book Club, and many more! They also have special activities planned for March Break! Farm Visits
Last-minute animal encounters? Yes, please! We are lucky to live near an abundance of farms - and each one offers a unique experience! Wildhearts Farmstead in Newtonville has the most adorable Highland cows and so many other animals! They often have different events going on - click on the link to see what is happening now!

Also, check out Pingles Farm, Watson Farms, and Maple Grove Orchards.
Outdoor Picnic & Play
This is the easiest, zero-prep outing ever. Just grab a blanket, pack some snacks (or grab takeout on the way), and head to a nearby park. When my boys were little, we probably went on a picnic at least once a week! Some of my favourite places to go are Darlington Provincial Park, Lynde Creek Park, Lakeview Park, or Rocketship Park.
Indoor Play Cafés or Open Gym Times
Indoor play places save the day when the weather isn’t cooperating.
Neb's Fun World, Endless Fun, Joey's World, or The Flying Squirrel are just some of the hot spots in our area! I would recommend going to their websites first to see if you need a reservation before going.
Easy Hiking Trails for Kids
Find a trail that’s short, shaded, and has a fun feature—think waterfalls, bridges, or creeks to splash in! This was something I did daily with my boys and our dog - I felt like getting outside and being active was so important (and it helped ensure tired kids for nap-time!). Camp Oliver East Trail, Heber Down Conservation Area, Purple Woods - these are just some of the trials which are family-friendly and have an abundance of natural beauty.
When you’re stuck in the same routine, breaking out of it can be as simple as trying one new spot!
Pick a place from this list, do a quick search to find the details, and head out.
Sometimes the best outings aren’t the ones you spend a lot of time planning—they’re the ones you actually do!
